The compliant method, in order

1. Inspection and identification, with sampling where needed.
2. SafeWork NSW notification before licensed work begins, a five-day lead time.
3. Containment for friable work, sealed enclosure, negative air pressure, HEPA filtration and wetting.
4. Air monitoring during the works.
5. The clearance certificate confirming safe reoccupation.
6. EPA-compliant transport and disposal with tipping dockets.

For friable (Class A) work, the air monitoring and clearance certificate are carried out by an independent licensed asbestos assessor we arrange and coordinate, separate from us. It is the same principle a school or public building follows when it brings in an independent hygienist to sign off clearance, the party that removes the asbestos should not be the party certifying it safe. We never issue the clearance ourselves.

The friable question

Most asbestos in a Sans Souci home is bonded and stable while intact, but bonded material can become friable when damaged, aged, weathered, fire-affected or water-blasted, and friable material needs Class A handling. A site inspection determines the class before the work is scoped, factual, not alarmist.
