The difference matters. A contractor that “manages” asbestos is coordinating someone else to do the licensed part; a contractor with its own licence does it directly, with a single accountable chain. Eco Demolition holds the in-house capability for both friable (Class A) and non-friable (Class B) removal, publishes AD212242, and runs the full compliance chain, including arranging the independent clearance, itself. Who can legally remove asbestos

Asbestos work in NSW is regulated by SafeWork NSW under the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017. Friable asbestos (loose, crumbly) is Class A and needs a Class A licence for any amount; non-friable (bonded) fibro is Class B. A demolition licence is not an asbestos removal licence, they are separate, which is exactly why the in-house asbestos capability is the point here.

Why the asbestos type decides the job

Most asbestos in a Rose Bay home is bonded and stable while intact, but bonded material can become friable when damaged, aged, weathered, fire-affected or water-blasted, and friable material needs Class A handling. What is the difference between a demolition licence and an asbestos licence?

They are separate authorisations. A demolition licence does not permit licensed asbestos removal; that needs an asbestos removal licence (Class A or B). We hold both, so the asbestos work is done in-house.

Who issues the clearance certificate?
